The meter uses the Modbus-RTU communication protocol, which defines in detail the check codes, data sequences, etc., which are necessary for specific data exchange.The MODBUS protocol USES a master-slave respond connection (half duplex) on one communication line.When the main computer's signal is addressed to a unique terminal (slave), the terminal sends a reply signal for transmission to the host.

MODBUS protocol only allows communication between the host computer (PC, PLC, etc.) and the terminal device, but does not allow data exchange between independent terminal devices, so that each terminal device will not occupy the communication line during their initialization, but only respond to the query signal arriving on the machine.
